Issue №: 2 (41)
This issue of the journal is dedicated to current issues in improving technological methods for crop cultivation. Significant attention is given to the specifics of growing vegetable, grain and leguminous crops, which play a vital role in ensuring the state's food security. The scientific publications present the results of experimental research on the production of organic leguminous products, the importance of adaptive breeding to increase the resilience of agrocenoses, plant protection against harmful objects and the application of fertilizers to increase crop yields. Certain papers are devoted to the implementation of innovative methods for stimulating the seed productivity of forest seed plantations.

The article presents the results of studies on the influence of varietal characteristics and plant growth regulators on the formation of the photosynthetic surface and yield of spring barley under the conditions of the north-eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The aim of the research was to determine the patterns of leaf area formation in different spring barley varieties and to assess their role in the realization of crop productivity potential. Field experiments were conducted during 2023-2025 on typical deep medium loamy chernozem soil. The study involved barley varieties of different breeding origin, namely Agrarii, Bohun, Komandor, Akordine and Alisiana. Plant growth regulators were applied at the tillering and stem elongation stages. The results showed that the formation of the photosynthetic surface area significantly depended on varietal characteristics and treatment options. The highest leaf area values were recorded in Akordine and Agrarii varieties, while the lowest were observed in Bohun. The application of plant growth regulators contributed to an increase in the photosynthetic surface, with the highest efficiency demonstrated by Yarilo Amino Mix. Similar trends were observed in yield formation. The highest productivity was obtained in the Akordine variety, whereas Komandor and Bohun showed lower yield levels. The obtained results confirm the important role of varietal traits in the formation of the photosynthetic potential of crops and indicate the effectiveness of plant growth regulators in increasing the productivity of spring barley under the conditions of the north-eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. It requires an in-depth study of the physiological mechanisms of the formation of photosynthetic productivity of spring barley varieties, optimization of the system of application of growth regulators taking into account soil and climatic conditions, as well as establishing the relationship between the parameters of the photosynthetic apparatus and grain quality indicators.
