ASSESSMENT OF FODDER AND SEED PRODUCTIVITY OF REGISTERED AND PROSPECTIVE VARIETIES AND HYBRID POPULATIONS OF ALFALFA SOWING
Buhayov Vasyl Dmytrovych – Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Staff Scientist, the Head of the Selection of Green Crops Department of Institute of Forage and Agriculture of Podolia NAAS of Ukraine (21100, Vinnytsia, Prospekt Yunosty, 16. e-mail: bugayovvd@ukr.net).
Horenskyi Vitalii Mihailovich – Сandidate of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher of the Department of Fodder Crop Selection of the Institute of Fodder and Agriculture of Podolia NAAS of Ukraine (21100, Vinnytsia, Prospekt Yunosty, 16. e-mail: e-mail: gorenskij.vitalij@ukr.net).
Mamaliha Vasyl Stepanovych – Сandidate of Biology Sciences, Professor of the Department of Botany, Genetics and Plant Protection of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University (21008, Vinnytsia, Soniachna Str., 3. e-mail: stepanovich112@i.ua).
As a result of the conducted research, varieties and hybrid populations of alfalfa, which ensured high yield of dry matter and seeds with high resistance to root rot and adverse environmental conditions were highlighted.
The maximum crop of dry matter was provided by the hybrid population Mega /Grilis (exceeding the standard-grade Syniukha was 0.11 kg/m2) and the ROSANA variety (0,10 kg/m2). Rodin's genus and the hybrid population of Zhydrunie/Vica exceeded the standard by 0.08 kg/m2.
The best seed yield had the hybrid Syniukha/Mega population that exceeded the standard by 9.1 g/m2, the ROSANA variety (overage was 5.0 g/m2) and the hybrid populations Mega/Grilis (3.5 g/m2) and Zhydrunie/Vica (2.8 g/m2).
