Issue №: 3 (42)
The issue of the magazine is devoted to topical issues of improving technological methods of growing agricultural crops. Considerable attention is paid to the peculiarities of growing vegetable, grain and leguminous crops, which play an important role in ensuring the food security of the state. Scientific publications present the results of experimental research on the fertilization of grain crops, the importance of soil moisture for the formation of friendly seedlings of field crops, as well as the effectiveness of technological methods of growing agricultural crops. Separate works of European scientists highlight the issue of pre-sowing seed treatment and the use of biological preparations to protect plants from harmful objects. The issue of effective use of the forest fund of enterprises, increasing the role of agroforestry in the creation of sustainable food systems and the creation of targeted wood plantations was also considered.

The article contains the results of research obtained as a result of the analysis of the main areas of production activity of the State Enterprise “Yemilchyn Forestry and Agricultural Complex” ZHOCAP “Zhytomyroblagrolis” of the Zhytomyr Regional Council. An analysis of the main areas of production activity was carried out by the volume of work performed and the costs of their implementation. The main types of work in forestry and hunting are felling, forest formation, and forest rehabilitation. It was established that the actual costs of the enterprise for forestry management exceed the planned ones by 43-49%.
Over the past two years, the cost of harvesting 1 m3 of wood in early thinning is the highest (349.0–376.0 UAH). The cost of harvesting 1 m3 of wood from main felling is 197–239 UAH. The volumes of forest plantations corresponded to the planned ones. The highest costs were for growing planting material (38 %). Costs for forest protection from fires in 2023 amounted to 7% of the total costs for forestry and hunting. Of the total amount of expenses for the special use of forest resources, the share of expenses for harvesting wood in the main felling is 16%–19%. Expenses for transporting wood from all types of fellings are 34–29%. General production costs are 25–22%, expenses for the sale of forest products are 17–23%, and administrative expenses are 7%. An important component of the activity is the protection of the forest from pests and diseases. In 2023, the enterprise increased its expenses for these measures from 67.8 thousand UAH to 84.5 thousand UAH. During this period, forest pathological examinations were carried out in full, 10% more than planned. An increase in actual production costs leads to a decrease in the net income of the enterprise and, as a result, a decrease in the profitability of the forestry enterprise.
The results obtained have practical significance for planned activities to expand the area of pine plantations and for their formation during their growth.
