Description:
The issue of the magazine is devoted to topical issues of improving technological methods of growing agricultural crops. Considerable attention is paid to the peculiarities of growing vegetable, grain and leguminous crops, which play an important role in ensuring the food security of the state. Scientific publications present the results of experimental research on the fertilization of grain crops, the importance of soil moisture for the formation of friendly seedlings of field crops, as well as the effectiveness of technological methods of growing agricultural crops. Separate works of European scientists highlight the issue of pre-sowing seed treatment and the use of biological preparations to protect plants from harmful objects. The issue of effective use of the forest fund of enterprises, increasing the role of agroforestry in the creation of sustainable food systems and the creation of targeted wood plantations was also considered.

Annotation

The article presents the results of a comprehensive scientific study aimed at assessing the ecological and biochemical state of non-wood forest products (NWFPs) under conditions of intensive military load within the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The relevance of the work is due to the need to study the «invisible» consequences of military operations – long-term biogeochemical transformations in forest biogeocenoses caused by contamination with ammunition detonation products and fuel spills. Experimental studies were conducted during 2024–2026 on the basis of Hnivan forestry of SE «Forests of Ukraine» (military impact zone) and PE «Dashivske» (control, ecologically safe zone) in Vinnytsia region. 

The objects of monitoring were Boletus edulis, Cantharellus cibarius and wild berries Fragaria vesca, Rubus caesius with high cumulative capacity. Heavy metal concentrations (Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu) in soil and product biomass were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. Significant spatial heterogeneity of pollution and a direct correlation between the state of soils and toxicant accumulation in NWFPs have been established. In Hnivan forestry soils, MPC excesses were recorded for all metals (copper by 36.7%, cadmium by 28.6%), while in PE «Dashivske» all indicators were normal. The calculated hazard coefficients (Kh) confirmed a critical toxicological threat in the military zone: lead content in porcini mushroom exceeded the MPC by 7.83 times (Kh – 7.83), in chanterelle by 5.71 times, and in dewberry by 5.5 times.

Cadmium content in chanterelles and dewberries exceeded the norm by 3.0 and 4.0 times, respectively. It is proved that anomalous accumulation of Pb and Cd is a consequence of ammunition detonation and destruction of forest litter. Safety measures have been proposed, including risk mapping, a temporary moratorium on NWFPs harvesting within 500 m from military incidents, and soil phytoremediation.

The aim of the journal "Agriculture and Forestry" is to highlight the results of fundamental and applied research in the fields of agriculture and forestry, aimed at improving the efficiency of agricultural production and introducing modern technologies into farming practice.

This goal defines the main objectives:

– to ensure the creation of open information access regarding the dissemination of relevant scientific research results to: lecturers of agricultural higher education institutions, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, research staff, and agricultural production specialists;

The scientific, production, and educational journal "Agriculture and Forestry" is a peer-reviewed open-access publication that publishes original experimental research, theoretical and practice-oriented articles within the cluster of "Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences".

The journal's subject matter covers such areas as agronomy and forestry. Publications of scientific and practical significance address the experimental foundations of agricultural and forestry sector development, innovative production technologies, and the results of fundamental and applied research aimed at increasing productivity, product quality, and the sustainable development of natural and production systems.

Scientific journal "AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY" was founded  in 1995;  it was entitled as  Bulletin of Vinnytsya State Agricultural Institute.

In 2010-2014 was enritled as Collection of scientific works of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University.

It has been named as Agriculture and Forestry since 2015.

Listed in the updated list of scientific professional editions of Ukraine on agricultural sciences under the name Agriculture and Forestry (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of May 16, 2016; No. 515).
