The issue of the magazine is devoted to topical issues of improving technological methods of growing agricultural crops. Considerable attention is paid to the peculiarities of growing vegetable, grain and leguminous crops, which play an important role in ensuring the food security of the state. Scientific publications present the results of experimental research on the fertilization of grain crops, the importance of soil moisture for the formation of friendly seedlings of field crops, as well as the effectiveness of technological methods of growing agricultural crops. Separate works of European scientists highlight the issue of pre-sowing seed treatment and the use of biological preparations to protect plants from harmful objects. The issue of effective use of the forest fund of enterprises, increasing the role of agroforestry in the creation of sustainable food systems and the creation of targeted wood plantations was also considered.
AGROECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF SOYBEANS IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE RIGHT-BANK FOREST-STEP

The results of agroecological testing of the domestically bred Slavna soybean variety in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine are presented. The research was conducted during 2024–2026 in the experimental field of the Institute of Feed and Agriculture of Podillya NAAS of Ukraine. The object of the research was the Slavna soybean variety, the originator of which is the Institute of Feed and Agriculture of Podillya NAAS of Ukraine. The variety is included in the State Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine and is characterized by high productivity potential and good adaptability to the soil and climatic conditions of the region. The purpose of the research was to assess the productivity, economic and valuable characteristics and quality indicators of the Slavna seeds when grown in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The evaluation was carried out according to a complex of morphological, economic and biological and biochemical indicators, which allowed to determine the adaptive potential of the variety and the prospects for its practical use. As a result of the conducted research, it was established that the Slavna variety provided stable crop formation in different weather conditions of the research years. The maximum seed yield was 3.41 t/ha, which indicates a high level of realization of the biological potential of the variety in the conditions of the region. One of the important indicators of productivity was the mass of 1000 seeds, which reached 194 g, characterizing the formation of aligned and large seeds. Biochemical analysis confirmed high product quality indicators. The content of crude protein in the seeds exceeded 40%, which indicates a significant feed and technological value of the variety. The combination of high yield, large seed size and significant protein content confirms the prospects of its use in modern agricultural production. According to the results of a comprehensive agroecological assessment, it was established that the Slavna soybean variety is characterized by high productivity, adaptability to the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine and stable seed quality indicators. The results obtained provide grounds to recommend the variety for wide production introduction, use in the seed system, production of high-protein feed, as well as as a valuable starting material in breeding programs for the creation of new high-yielding soybean varieties.

The aim of the journal "Agriculture and Forestry" is to highlight the results of fundamental and applied research in the fields of agriculture and forestry, aimed at improving the efficiency of agricultural production and introducing modern technologies into farming practice.
